Topic: RE: Help, I need advice!!!!!
So sorry you are feeling so bad! I do get what you mean about the protein shakes...They are also real important! I bought all kinds of premixed ones and ther are all awful.
Have you tried starting with a small blender , soy or regular milk and sugar free carnation instant breakfast... I use that with a scoop of protein powder, bit of benefiber and a couple of Ice cubes and it tastes fresh and great. If i had to live on Eas or slimagunk right now i might just have lost my will completely.
The best thing I have is my $13 mini blender from wal mart. It makes the liquids seem like smoothies.
You can also make hot cocoa with the carnation instant breakfast...a minute and a half in the microwave..
Soy milk is a little easier to get down than cow milk for me too...and tastes a lot better than I would have imagined.
For fluids makd sure you get them..that has been the key to my good or bad day factor..Sugarless popsicles help me get that in and take care of the urge to crunch.
walking used to be fun for me but hasn't been since the surgery..( probably because it is 30 degrees out there... yuk) But I feel a lot better if I do it!
Nothing new but i hope there is a little something that might help you..I feel for you and you will be in my prayers... It will get much better...have faith about that.

Topic: RE: So How is everyone doing?
I will be 3 weeks out tomorrow and I feel great. I had hardly any pain from surgery, which has been good. I've lost about 20lbs since surgery and 20 before surgery so the 40lbs gone is awesome! I'm on blenderized foods right now, still have another week of that and then on to soft foods. I can't wait to eat semi normal foods! I still won't be able to eat cold cereals and "rough" foods yet but they will come eventually.

One week out today. I have been feeling very weak & dizzy. Sleeping a LOT. Fighting to get all my fluid in. I'm about to start full liquids - I pray that the protein & vitamins will help me feel better.

I'm 3 and a half weeks out and I'm doing great. I'm one of the lucky ones that so far can tolerate anything I've tried (I'm on phase 5). The only thing I don't tolerate is too much sugar. Went to starbucks today and asked for SF cinnamon dolce latte and they gave me a regular, it really messed me up. But I don't dump like a lot of people, I just get really tired and have to sleep it off. I have more energy than I've in in about 10 years and loving it. I'm getting my confidence back. My jeans are starting to fall off. And my hubby can see a big difference in me (not just size, but happiness and attitude).
Topic: RE: Water Intake?
water seems to hurt me when I drink it, I don't know why. But I bought the splenda with lemon flavor that you add to water and it helped (no clue what made a difference) and I actually drank my whole bottle. I've also been making unsweet tea and adding splenda to it. In the beginning I did half gatorade half water (per surgeon suggestion). I also have SF hot cider. Any fluids you drink count towards your intake, not jus****er. Good luck.
Topic: Hello
Hello everyone. I had lap RNY on Nov 17 then had to go back in to surgery on the 18th due to internal bleeding. I finally was able to come home on the 28th. I'm so happy to be home cause I really missed my boys. Right now I'm trying to stick to 30cc of water or IsoPure every 30 min. Its been working ok but I'm still so thirsty. Any suggestions or tips??? I'm feeling ok, kind dizzy this morning. I'm just trying to get into my normal swing. I'm so glad I found you all cause I'm sure you will all be a great support system. thanks

Topic: I'm starving!
I got banded on the 26th--- so 4 days ago-- and I'm sick of broth. How much can you drink, really? It fills me up for a whole 20 minutes and then I'm hungry.
how do you do this for a whole week?
I don't feel any restriction to be honest-- and I feel quite a bit of chest pain. it's almost as if something is lodged in my throat.
any advice would be great

Thank you. They helped me too. But you have to keep the ball rolling. There needs to be people of all stages currently participating. That gives the advantage of having a broad range of support and experience. While I value the folks who are further out, I also like having folks that are there in the mix with me now.

Gosh I am sorry to hear that you had not one but two surgeries right on top of another. Do you mind if I ask what happened? Whatever it was I hope that it is nothing to worry about anymore.
As for you feeling bad, I think you need to take it easy. You had two surgeries!! Yikes I would so want my hubby to help me all day if I went through all of that.
Protein shakes are terrible! I do not like the at all and cringe everytime I have to drink one.
Well I wish you luck on your recovery. Keep us posted with your progress.
